Middleton 4245

A decommissioned early warning radar site on Middleton Island in the Gulf of Alaska, Summer 2015. As a charter pilot (you can see the airplane in the lower right corner, distant) last year I had a few flights out here in support of scientists and technicians. On one occasion I had some standby time and used it productively. The weather at this remote island can be surprisingly balmy in the summer when the coast is less pleasant. (4245)
